Went on a 5AM cruise this morning since it’s my off day. Was two minutes from home and decided to stop to take this pic.

When I got back in I gave it some gas , let out the clutch, and with a snap sound the Throttle pedal went limp lol. Limped it to a parking spot and it appears the cable has snapped

Not the greatest way to end a drive but at least it doesn’t seem like too bad of a fix.

I had similar happen to me in a Triumph many years ago.  I turned up the idle speed and drove it home, easy on Strombergs, I don't know as much about Webers.

Shouldn’t be too hard to fix...MGs seem pretty easy to work on! :)

I have used a piece of random wire and a stick to make a hand throttle t o limp a cj7 home. That was lots of fun with a manual trans.

Beautiful car. Really well chosen style.

My travel tool box I just put together has a spare throttle cable for my mini in it. I just know something will go

Yeah as far as things go I wasn’t upset at all. I never expected this car to be a paragon of reliability and the great thing about it is that most of the fixes cost relatively much less than on my 95 Bimmer. Plus I was within home walking distance anyways so I had a nice walk back to enjoy the view haha

I tried doing that by using the choke and pulling it out a quarter turn to raise the idle but i had two steep hills that it wouldn’t have made

Ahh the joys of old cars.  My favorite was then I was driving the Alfa on the highway, feeling pretty good about life and at that moment the headlight trim ring flies over my head and into the railroad tracks next to the highway.  I just kept driving, but cut that drive short haha.

Beautiful car! I’ve always loved MGs and wanted one for the longest time. At least the fix is a pretty cheap and easy one.
